I took a train trip one day to Koblenz and Trier in Germany, and
then made a mad dash into Luxembourg where I jumped off the train
for 15 minutes, got a pastry at a shop downtown, and jumped back
on a train to return to Germany. Trier is the oldest city in
Germany, and is known for its Roman ruins.

The Deutsches Eck, or "German Corner", is where the
Order of the Teutonic Knights supposedly settled in 1216 and
gave birth to the German nation. The Eck is located at the
confluence of the Mosel and Rhine rivers. Flags from each of
the German states are being flown.
